Friends and Family,

I have created a personal website called deniseneish.com. I’ve been working on it for a long time for a few reasons:

First, I made exactly what I was looking for when I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. I wanted to find survivors out there. Really, what I was looking for was hope that I might be one of the 1-3% who are cured. I always knew that if I made it to this point, I would get myself out there on the internet for other women to find.

Another reason I made this website is because I have been through an incredible experience in the last 2 1/2 years. We all seem to take turns dealing with difficult trials in our lives. I have been inspired by seeing, or reading about, others who have successfully navigated some of life’s craziest curve balls. We learn from each other, even if our paths our very different. My hope is to inspire or lift anyone going through any type of personal crisis.

A third reason I made this site is because I continue to work (slowly) on writing a book about my battle with stage 4 breast cancer.  This will be my author website when I try to get it published.  My writing has gone through several phases.  At first I think I wrote completely for myself. To be honest, I was a bit traumatized by this whole experience, and writing helped me deal with it, even if I felt inclined to write a lot of the painful details. But the longer I have been healthy, and in remission, I am able to write with a lot more joy. I’m excited to write more, because there is a happy ending!

If you have followed my caringbridge journal in the past, I will be posting all journal updates on my new website. I transferred my journal entries over to deniseneish.com.

For friends who have never read my caringbridge journal in the past, you are welcome to read my story from the beginning of my diagnosis. I will continue to update it regularly when I get new scans, and occasionally when I share some reflections and insights related to my cancer experience.

Please, feel free to share my website with anyone you know who may benefit from it.  I especially want to reach those who are battling cancer. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Denise (deniseneish.com)
